I am thinking of starting to save for a tummy tuck and I wanted to know if anyone on here has ever had a tummy tuck in a foreign country and would you recommend it?

I have heard of places that you pay to go abroad to have the operation done, all flights, hotel and aftercare included but still being cheaper than the UK.

Also if anyone has any horror stories about tummy tucks that have gone wrong as I would like to know all the facts that the docs might not tell you before I go ahead. Dont worry, I’m not queasy.
Hi, just to add to my question.

I have dieted and exercised, I lost nearly 4 stone and have been going to the gym but I am left with a big fold of excess skin that hangs down.

  1. Congratulations on losing the weight.

I had the abdomnioplasty done back in 2002. Given the choice over again…I would not.

I had some internal bleeding, that had to be reopened, and spent another week in the hospital, now, I have an incision from hip to hip…and an indented scar tissue over my belly.

I would opt to do it via exercise. Be proud of your accomplishment of losing the weight. Skin is elastic…exercise and time, will make it tight.

The risk was not worth it.

    Good luck.

  6. I wouldn’t do it,I mean you get the vbacation, it is cheaper but in reality you have about a 5% chance that something goes wrong and if something does, well you can’t do anything legally or otherwise. Probably not even get help to fix it, red tape is so hard to cross.

  7. Don’t go to some back water place that promises you the world. These type of places are too dangerous. They say it is cheaper and you will get looked after but it’s too late after the damage is done.

If you have to get it done, save your money to get it done right, don’t go for any ‘cheap’ offers.

  8. If you have time please opt not to do the surgery. Try all the alternative first.
Excercise, Join a Dance class, Jazzercize, Walking, Aerobics, Spinning classes, Yoga, Change your diet and stop eating just before bed or eat just a few crackers nothing heavy (this really last one really works).

  9. go on…why not, but never forget what the effects are…you could also save money by just going to the gym…that’s a lot better ’cause it’s natural!
